May 19th is Kemal Attaturk's birthday, and the Turkish flag was flying everywhere (below). He's a national hero, considered to be the Father of modern Turkey, after passing many reforms.There are monuments to him everywhere.
What you can't find in the Grand Bazaar, you probably don't need.
