Might as well start with where I live, then.
Boscombe is right next door to Bournemouth., which you can find on a map of the U.K., mid-way along the south coast and across from the Isle of Wight.

This photo is taken from the cliff top, and that'ss the Isle of Wight, away in the distance.
It's a holiday area, often referred to as 'Sunny Bounemouth', but not this year, unless you're being sarcastic.
There's miles of sandy beaches and the water is safe for swimming. I sound like a travel agent, don't I? Well, notice that I said 'safe', not 'warm'. And NO, you won't catch me in it!
Boscombe used to be a high class district, as you can see from some of the lovely architecture. There are some truly magnificent Edwardian houses in the area. (I'll be posting some photos as soon as the sun comes out long enough for me to take some without getting soaked in the rain). But more recently Boscombe has become quite run down. Now there are efforts to regenerate the town, some very glamorous apartments have been built and a false reef is under construction to provide waves for surfers.
It all sounds good, but it's a bit of an uphill struggle, I think. It's hard to turn an area around. In the meantime, Boscombe is a very cheap (ahem, I mean inexpensive) place to live, which suits me just fine!
