Throop Mill

Here's another place where I like to go for a walk. Throop is on the outskirts of Bournemouth so it's very easy to reach. The Mill was originally built in 1086 and was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It was rebuilt in the 1890's with the redbrick building you can see in the photo. It's close to the River Stour, but when it was first built it was on the edge of a swamp.

The walk follows the river for a way and then you go across the fields. As you can see from the photos, the sun is still AWOL around here. It's been raining a lot too, so the walk was quite muddy when I went on Monday. But I didn't get my boots mucky, despite Irene threatening to give me a shove into the mire. She's just jealous because I have the cleanest boots in Bournemouth!

That's not a brown and white Jaws in the water, it's Pebbles, the Springer Spaniel. Bet she wouldn't be so keen to get in there if that was a bath.

There are lovely colours around at this time of year- here's a some berries I saw, on the side of an old farm building.

Maggie, I love your magic pantry! What a poetic name and it describes what you're doing beautifully ... and your photos are spectacular.

Good on you, princess feathers!

love, Caro
