Christmas market in Bournemouth 2012

The Christmas markets around Europe are well known and I've been to a couple: Prague, Vienna and Copenhagen. But Bournemouth has one too! It's maybe not as charismatic as those beauties- but still- if you're looking for a Christmas experience, you can find something here. I think.
If you fancy flinging yourself around on a knife thin blade with only your spare tyre to protect you from some cold and unyielding ice- there's an ice rink.

Or maybe sitting outside a boozer is more your idea of fun. This is a temporary Beer Kellar. But be warned- see that giant elk head? Well, he tells jokes. Awful jokes. With a really poor German accent. And it's LOUD. So- you can shiver in the cold, drink tepid beer from a cheap plastic cup and be blasted with the world's first talking elk. But hey, if that's what turns your crank, you'll love it.

Ah! Something that is really Christmas- a Nativity scene.

Thought bubble:  "Hope someone buys some of this darned stuff soon. Other wise I'm gonna have to eat earrings for the next 12 months."

And finally, The Tree. Lovely decorations. And I especially like that subtle wrapper around the base.
Merry Christmas!
